Modern Love is run by Ninth Path Systems LLC (“we” or “us”). This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and how you sign in (email, Apple or Google).
- Profile details you choose to share: first name, birth date, gender, who you’re looking for, bio, interests and photos.
- Approximate location, used to show you people nearby. If you allow location, it’s updated when you open the app and you’ve moved more than a few miles, never in the background. Other people see your city and a distance, never your exact location.
- Activity in the app: likes, passes, profile views, matches and messages.
- Reports and blocks you make or receive, so we can keep people safe.
- Subscription status from the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details.
How we use it
To run the app: show your profile to people who match your preferences, create matches, deliver messages, review photos and reports, and provide paid features. We don’t sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Other members see the profile details you choose to show. We use service providers to host data (Supabase), handle subscriptions (RevenueCat, Apple and Google), check that sign-ups and sign-ins come from people rather than automated scripts (Cloudflare) and send notifications. They only process data to provide those services to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, likes, matches and messages are deleted. Reports about safety issues may be kept as long as needed to protect other members.
The launch waitlist
If you leave your email on our website, we keep only that address and when you left it, to email you once when Modern Love launches. To be removed, email support@modernlove.app.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, block people and delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
You can clear a chat, which removes its messages for you only. The other person still has them, and they’re deleted with your account as described above.
Members can see who viewed their profile in the last 30 days. You can turn off “Show when I view profiles” in Settings: then nobody sees that you viewed them, and you don’t see who viewed you.
When you plan a trip, we keep the city you choose until your trip ends, up to 7 days. People there see you as visiting from your home city, never your exact location.
Your matches see when you’ve read their messages. You can turn off “Read receipts” in Settings: then they don’t see it, and you don’t see theirs.
Age
Modern Love is only for people 18 and older.
